Karen Cannon - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

Karen Cannon has a Ph.D. in agricultural communication from the University of Florida and focuses her work on bridging communication gaps between agricultural and non-expert audiences, crisis communication in food and agriculture, and the scholarship of teaching and learning in higher education. Prior to earning her doctorate, she worked in public relations roles in public, private, and nonprofit positions in the agriculture industry. She was most recently an assistant professor of agricultural communication at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and can be reached at karenjcannon@me.com.
