Lynette Johnston is an assistant professor and food safety extension specialist at NC State University in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences. She received her Ph.D. from Texas Tech University and has experience working in food manufacturing. As an extension specialist, she works extensively with food processors across North Carolina to provide training and technical support, with a particular focus in the fresh-cut produce industry. Her program focuses on specific areas related to the implementation and verification food safety management systems including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety plans, and market-driven standards.
