I have an MS in plant sciences and come from an environmental science and policy background. Half of my job here at the University of Maryland is within the realm of water recycling and managing plant pathogens in nurseries and greenhouses. The other half is food safety education. I have been leading Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs) trainings in Maryland for the last two years and have recently started organizing and leading the Produce Safety Alliance's grower trainings. I help Maryland farmers write food safety plans and attain food safety certifications.
